Message to Kylie:
Dear Princess,
I love you and miss you too!!!! I have not gotten too homesick though, I am so busy all day that I don't have much time to think!!! I am taking care of lots of people! We visit the sick all the time! It is really cool! I have not seen any jackals, but there are flee ridden dogs everywhere! My companion is scared of them! It is super funny! This week I ate nsima, I also made nsima! The locals think it is funny that an azungu can make the African food!

Message to Caden:
I knew you were going to get taller! You will definitely be taller than me when I get home! I guess you're right, better to be fat than dead....or is it? I think I attached a pic of what we eat a lot. It is french fries covered in sauce and salad that you eat with a fork! I love it! No I have not baptized anyone, but I got to take part in conferring the Holy Ghost! It was amazing! I love the gospel!!! I challenge you to Learn in your youth so that you can be ready for a mission! Utilize seminary and truly study the chapters you are assigned, it will really bless you. Marking scriptures really help!
I love you man!

Message to Kelly (Mom):
It is true I am really experiencing a lot on my mission!!! I have been taking my Vitamins. This week has been fun! I got to give service in a maize field!! It was super cool!!! I have also found my new favorite thing is to give kids biscuits as I walk by. They stick out their humble little hands and are so grateful for the little treat! It melted my heart! One thing that I am noticing is that the days are flying! I have been gone for a month now! In that one month so much has happened though! We had a baptismal service yesterday for the other Elders. But what Elder Mpofu and I were happy about was that we had 9 investigators come to church! It was awesome!  What we also found funny was the man who gave the closing prayer literally prayed\yelled for about 15 mins. I looked up halfway through the prayer because I thought it might be a talk for a second. One thing happened this week. We went to visit Bro. Mattise, a recent convert and he is deaf. We taught him then went to another appointment but the appointment fell through so we went back to Mattise. When we came back we came upon two guys who were bothering him and one was holding an 18 inch knife behind his back. When we walked up the guy with the knife turned and tried to hide the knife in his pocket but it was too big. So we talked to the guys, then we decided to wait with Mattise to see if the guys would leave. We ended up needing to go to another appointment so we started walking away. We noticed that the two guys were watching us and were not leaving Mattise, we were impressed to turn back and stay with Mattise, which we did until the guys eventually left. We found out from Mattise that he did not know the guys and that he has been robbed before! He said one night he saw movement outside and peaked and saw a group of men with the same kind of knives that guy had, waiting to kill Mattise. Mattise got the men to run away by banging on his roof. He truly has had a challenged life. But I know the reason is because he is such a powerful member missionary. He gives us a referral almost every other day! One thing in the scriptures that I enjoyed this week was in Alma 37:38-47 It talks about how the words of Christ are our personal liahona. How it is truly simple and all we need to do is look and it will lead us to Eternal Life. That is why scripture study is so important. By studying we will be guided,  receive spiritual strength, and see our Father in Heaven again. I also liked in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, 13 Where it talks about Charity, how Charity is even more important than Faith and Hope!!! I loved these scriptures because they remind me of the Charity you have and show. The love that you have given your family and literally every person you come in contact with! I want to follow your example and develop that Charity in myself as I serve my mission. I know the only way for me to do that is to serve others and pray to feel that love for others!

Message to Chris (Dad):
The Quorum of the Twelve are truly powerful! We listen to talks by them all the time!!! It is true, the Kingdoms of Glory are truly amazing and beyond our understanding! I also find it true that we need to be sealed to each other to make it there! D&C 128:18 It is true I know that all of you love me! I am truly seeing that while I am so far away! I am glad that you are journal keeping! That is so important! It will allow my children to know their grandfather better! I love you! I also sent a pic of this fish thing I ate and eating nsima!

  1. Well interesting I met Connor some couple of weeks ago. Am an investigator... my family is jehovahs witnesses though and I've studied with them since 1995. Anyways am not a jehovahs witness myself but I do hold a number of their principles since I was in JW.ORG family. But am more of curious knowledge seeker and would like to become a mkdern day sage. Anyways Connor lives in the same neighborhood as me Area 6. He knocked on my gate with his friend Kamekoche (difficult name) anyways. Both these guys were very humble and i managed to convince me to come to the church. I visited like once and there things I don't understand but researching is what I like to do so it is befitting to be called an investigator. Remember that I'am a knowledge seeker and i hope I do not offend anyone by learning for the purpose of uncovering what exactly is taught at LDS for my own personal knowledge. Anyways Brother Hollingsworth should consider getting a whatsapp phone but maybe he really wants to experience life with minimal technology. Anyways this blog is a good read and you can see how loving the family is from father To son. I guess the apple doesn't not fall from the tree. Anyways continuing being lovely people. -HARRISON KIRBY
